Our message to customers and clients on the outbreak of the Coronavirus is as follows:
Crewsure has confirmed that the coronavirus is covered under their Marine and Family healthcare policies.
They would however ask all their clients and their employees and members to take every reasonable precaution to mitigate the risk of being infected or passing on the virus. Ships need to impose strict rules when docked in port – especially in any areas or countries with a high incidence rate. Crew should follow medical advice in regard to hand washing and avoiding unnecessary contact with land-based service people.
Flag states are issuing regular bulletins on the latest advice in this fast changing situation.
